Ludus Maximus

The Equirria is a yearly festival organized by the imperial court; it’s equal part celebration, religious ceremony, and show of force to those who might question the Empress’ power. 

 The festival takes place over several days and concludes at sundown with the Ultima Iter, a chariot race consisting of some of the greatest riders in the empire. The race is held at Champion’s Hold, the largest chariot racing stadium in the empire. 

The characters find themselves on the receiving end of several dangerous jobs to infiltrate, influence, or otherwise intrude on the Ultima Iter. What the players decide to do and how they go about doing it could well determine a number of key political developments in the city and beyond.
